A MCO Initiative: The tale of the Thumbs Up Movement, frontliners, and free meals

Hey there, it's Ronn!

The Covid-19 pandemic and the Movement Control Order) have definitely been challenging (#understatement) for many Malaysians — whether it's economically, physically, or mentally. Good news is that we're a nation that comes together in the face of adversity.

Essential workers and frontliners — including everyday food delivery drivers, restaurant crew, policemen, firemen, ambulance drivers, security guards, grocery storekeepers, and cleaners — have been crucial in our battle against the health crisis since the beginning. They have all done their respective parts for the country tremendously well.

The Thumbs Up Movement is an initiative born out of gratitude towards our essential workers. Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown is partnering with Agrain to bring free meals. These are trying times and any help goes a long way, no matter how big or small.

Wondering how you can help? Here's what you can do:

1. Take a thumbs up picture of an essential worker and share it on your social media and tagging: #ThumbsUpMovement #DriveThruWithLove @agrainmy @fourpointskualalumpurchinatown. Make sure to follow both accounts!

2. You’ll get unique codes for x2 RM10 off Agrain in-house delivery and x1 discounted night stay at Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown inclusive of breakfast for two and room upgrade for RM179 per night (worth RM270).

3. Every promo code redemption by you will entitle an essential worker to a free meal sponsored by Agrain and Four Points by Sheraton Kuala Lumpur, Chinatown.

4. These free meals will be distributed to essential workers via a curbside pickup every Sunday from 12pm – 2pm throughout MCO 2.0 starting on 24 January.

It's a cliche but we are all experiencing a health crisis that's so unprecedented. The pandemic and MCO have negatively impacted many in massive ways. So, why not do what we can for our fellow Malaysians? After all, it's one for all and all for one.
